I'm a little behind

Last weekend we went north for the Chicago Marathon. We met up with several frineds and had a great time. If you've never been there, you're really missing out. The atmosphere is electric. This was Bart's 7th marathon and by far his favorite. There are about 45,000 runners and about 1.5 million spectators. Runners write their names so the spectators can cheer as they go by. Here's some of the runners on Sat. night getting painted up for the big race.

Early morning before the race, the crowd has all arrived.

This is kinda like "where's Waldo?" Bart is in the yellow shirt. I know I'm not the best photographer. :)

Bart carried the camera for the start. Kinda cool. There are so many people that you have to walk for a while until you actually get to the starting line. Hear the cow bells and cheers from the crowd? Make you want to run a marathon?.......nope, me neither. :)
After the marathon, we headed to my parents to get in on some harvest time. The weather was gorgeous and my boys loved every minute of it!

Wow. Yeah, running 26 miles isn't something I am dying to do...not sure why :).

Hey, what was the setting that you changed so now your new posts show up?? I tried something, but not sure if it worked.

I've been waiting for this post. I looked up his results. How did he feel he did? I know it was sooo hot again. Did he drink enough? Well, maybe I'll just call sometime so I can talk to him. I'm glad your boys got to enjoy the harvest. Can't wait to see you guys again-hopefully soon!
