We passed!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanking God on this good day. We have a daughter!! Introducing Jada Eyerusalem.

These pictures are in reverse order. The last picture is our referral picture. The second one she's about 5 months. And now she's about 7 1/2.

Thanks so much for all your prayers and support. I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am to meet her. We hope to travel in August.

I messed up

I feel bad. If we would have passed court, I would have for sure put a verse on here. One that said, praise the Lord, or God is good, or He answered our prayers! Instead I complained. I have to remember that this isn't about me. It's not about getting what I want. It's about God being glorified. I wasn't a very good example for my boys either. Being disappointed is okay. Being grouchy b/c I didn't get what I want, isn't okay. God is God. He's always good.

Psalm 64:3 "Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you."

The wait goes on

Got the call. Right away I could tell it wasn't good news. Apparantely there was no power in the MOWA office and so our letter couldn't get delivered. The good news is that we didn't get a new court date. So, we were told that on Monday a decision might be made. The bad news is that nothing is for sure! We think the case was heard, we think the birthmom showed up and everything was fine, but we just don't know. Ugh!!! The wait goes on. I have to do this all over again on Sunday night. Praying it's all over then.

Round 2 coming up

Our second court date is this Friday (our Thursday night). No news yet as to whether everything is in order or not. It's hard to even pray for God's will b/c I don't know what that is. I really just want to pass! I would appreciate your prayers and hope I get to show some pics (of the cutest little girl ever)soon! :)

It's still home

This past weekend we went home to my parents. Yes, it's still home. After 12 years of being married and living away I still love to go "home". We got to do mower rides (thanks Em), play in the sprinkler, shoot the gun, and drive the green tractor. As soon as we got there, Cole said "I drive it, green tractor." Carson's first request was "can we shoot the gun?". He got pretty good at it. He shot 3 blackbirds out of a tree. Not a little tree either. The top of a 20 year old white pine, on his first shot. So, thanks Dad and Mom for making "home" the place it is.

Not sure what's up with my pics but I can't post between them right now. ??

One more

Two posts in one day.....unusual, but I gotta share this.

I overheard Quinn and Kade talking this morning in Quinn's bedroom (while looking at his map).

Kade: I know where Ethiopia is.
Quinn: Where?
Kade: Right here.
Quinn: No, your finger isn't right in the middle of it. It's here.
Kade: And right here is "I like to move it, move it".
Quinn: That's Madagascar, Kade.

I guess you have to see the movie to appreciate this. :)

Summer Treats

Well, it's not that hot, but I recently got some great summer recipes that I thought I'd share. My boys love them and here's hoping to some warmer weather coming soon!

Homemade Popsicles
1 pkg. jello
1 pkg. koolaid
3/4 c. sugar
2 c. hot water

Combine the above ingredients. Stir until jello and koolaid are dissolved. Then add 2 c. cold water. Pour intol molds and freeze. Makes 18.

Cookies & Creme Pudding Pops
1 pkg. instant choc. pudding (made according to box directions)
1/2 c. thawed cool whip
6 oreo cookies (crushed)

Add cool whip to pudding and mix well. Stir in cookies. Spoon into 9 small dixie cups with stick in the middle. Freeze.

New court date

June 26th. 3 1/2 weeks away. No countdown this time. I don't want to think about 24 days. That seems too long. Just 3 1/2 weeks. Should be enough time for the signature to come in.

And, THANKS Dad and Mom for the flowers! They are beautiful. I absolutely love them.

The outcome

Not what we hoped for. But, God is still good. Apparantly we were missing a regional zonal letter from Soddo (this is the orphanage Jada was first at). A Soddo official has to write up this letter and then a MOWA official has to sign it. We're not sure if the letter is done and waiting on a MOWA signature (they are really backed up so this is highly possible), or if the letter hasn't arrived from Soddo.

Praises:

  1. This day is over! I have been feeling physically sick this morning waiting on the phone call. I finally know. Yes, I'm devasted but tomorrow is another day.
  2. Our case worker said our case was heard before the judge and she "thinks" everything else was fine.
  3. God is still on the Throne. Last night I went running and watched the storm come in. The clouds were moving quickly, the rain came, and the lightning got close. It was beautiful really. And such a great reminder that I serve an Awesome God. One who moves the wind, drives the rain, and flashes the lightning. I'd rather be in His hands than anywhere else.

Prayer:
  1. That our case worker is right and that everything else was okay, except this one piece of paper.
  2. That this paper can arrive quickly and be signed by MOWA in time for our next court date.
Thanks for all your prayers and support.
