I just went outside to shake some rugs and was refreshed! Literally my mind, body, and soul feel so free right now. Before you think I'm wierd, just keep reading. :) The sun is shining, it's 40 degrees, and I hear the drip, drip, drip of melting snow. Compare that to what we've had over the last couple weeks...bitter cold -15 degree temps, 6 inches of snow and ice. It's just been so cold and yucky out. I've always thought that God kinda messed up and put me in the wrong state. I should have been born in AZ maybe where there's 300 some days of sun a year. Where's its warm. Where things are always living and growing. I really don't like winter.
But, today as I stepped outside, I was reminded that spring is so wonderful b/c we've just been through the winter. God does that. He takes us through the valley so we can really appreciate the mountain top. Praise Him that His mercies are new every morning and we are not consumed. Praise Him for a new day. Praise Him for second chances. Praise Him for the sunshine today.
I have a friend who I met during our adoption process. We got referrals of little girls (the same age) one week apart. Tonight is her 3rd court date. Yes, she is still waiting to bring her first child home. Sweet Violet as been waiting since Feb. 16 to come to her forever home. Will you please join me in praying that this case will pass through the Ethiopian courts tonight as we sleep? If it doesn't, we cling to Lamentations 3:22-23. "Because of the LORD's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness."

Your right! We were born in the wrong state. I think dad didn't get the message he was supposed to go back to Texas with mom and stay put, not just honeymoon! :) Oh well we survived,poor us.Mom do you feel sorry for us yet? :) Kiss the kids for us and send a little of the sunshine this way, tomorrow would be nice. yes girls I do feel for you BUT...I used to not like winter either but now I do...see there is hope for you both!Praise God for your wonderful post Nell and may He give you an extra blessing for all that you have grown to be in Him! Always so MUCH to be thankful for in whatever we are going through! Praise Him! Does little Violet get to come home now? I love you all tons! :)
